Flower Mound and Highland Village residents who haven't registered to vote have until Monday, Oct. 5, to get on the rolls for the Nov. 3 general election.
The deadline also applies to registered voters whose name or address has changed. Under Texas law, the cutoff falls 30 days before Election Day, with no exceptions and no grace period, according to Denton County Elections.
No extensions apply.
The Flower Mound Bee first reported the approaching deadline.
How to register
Residents can register online at votedenton.gov using a Texas driver's license number, state ID number or the last four digits of a Social Security number. Paper forms can be printed, signed and mailed or dropped off at the Denton County Elections Administration office at 701 Kimberly Dr., Denton, TX 76208.
Mail-in registration forms must be postmarked by Monday, Oct. 5. The county elections office closes before the end of the business day, so residents mailing a form should not wait until Monday evening.
Mail ballot applications due Oct. 23
Voters who qualify for a mail-in ballot face a separate deadline. The Denton County Elections office must receive mail ballot applications by Friday, Oct. 23. That deadline is based on receipt, not postmark.
Applications can be sent by mail to PO Box 1720, Denton, TX 76202, by fax at 940-349-3201 or by email at [email protected]. Faxed or emailed applications require the original to arrive by mail within four business days.
