Flower Mound police found three people dead inside a home in the 10700 block of Sunrise Circle on Wednesday, Sept. 23, after family members called for a welfare check.

Officers arrived at approximately 10:43 a.m. after two residents failed to report to work and relatives could not reach them, according to a Flower Mound Police Department press release.

Deputy Chief Henry Lucio told NBC DFW the victims are believed to be related and that gunshots appear to have been involved. Police have not released the victims' names or details about the circumstances of the deaths.

"I can say there's not a threat to the community at this time; we do believe it's an isolated incident," Lucio said.

The Criminal Investigations Division is handling the case. Detectives remained at the home nearly 12 hours after the initial call, processing the scene for evidence, NBC DFW reported.
