Republican Justice Brian Walker is seeking reelection to Place 7 on Texas’ Second Court of Appeals in the Nov. 3, 2026, election. He is the only candidate listed for that seat in the state’s Denton County certification.

Background

Walker’s official biography lists a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University, a law degree from the University of Houston, a master’s in international relations from the University of Oklahoma and a master’s in biblical and theological studies from Dallas Theological Seminary.

It describes work as a prosecutor and in private practice handling military and veterans’ law, civil litigation and criminal defense. Walker also served as a judge advocate in the Air Force Reserve.

The office

The Second Court is an intermediate appellate court serving a North Texas district that includes Denton County. Its justices review legal issues in appeals rather than conducting new jury trials or passing legislation.

For local residents, its decisions can affect civil and criminal cases arising within its jurisdiction. The official biography reviewed does not set out a separate 2026 administrative platform, implementation timetable or funding request. No additional campaign proposals are attributed to Walker here.

The Flower Mound Times did not receive a direct questionnaire response from the candidate and does not endorse candidates.
