Denton County Brewing Company plans to open a pizza, coffee and craft beer venue inside the historic yellow farmhouse in Flower Mound's Harvest community, filling a space that sat empty about six weeks after a beloved coffee shop's departure.

The Harvest community announced Tuesday, Aug. 25, that DCBC, a Denton-based brewery currently operating a taproom at 200 E. McKinney St. in Denton, will become the farmhouse's new food and beverage tenant. The location could open as early as this fall.

The brewery replaces Farmhouse Coffee & Treasures, which operated in the yellow farmhouse for nine years before moving out in mid-July.

What's planned

DCBC intends to run the space as an all-day gathering spot: coffee in the morning, lunch midday and craft beer and pizza in the evening. Live music, trivia nights and community events are also planned, along with potential gardening and farming workshops on site.

Harvest said seasonal menus will feature produce grown in the community whenever possible, with remaining ingredients sourced from Texas farmers and local producers.

The bankruptcy question

The expansion comes at a complicated moment. DCBC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April, according to TheStreet, which described it as an "award-winning" operation. Chapter 11 allows a business to restructure debt while continuing operations.

DCBC is navigating a broader industry downturn. U.S. craft beer production fell 4% in 2025, with closures outpacing new openings 481 to 300, according to the Brewers Association. That contraction continued into the first half of 2026, though taprooms performed better than other brewery models, according to the association's midyear report.

"Breweries that deliver consistent quality, human connection, and unique experiences will stand out," Matt Gacioch, staff economist at the Brewers Association, wrote in the group's May 29 annual report.

What's next

No specific opening date has been set beyond fall 2026. No building permit or lease filing for the Harvest farmhouse has surfaced in public records, and the announcement did not include any direct comment from DCBC ownership about the move or the brewery's restructuring plans.

The Harvest farmhouse would be DCBC's first location outside Denton.
