An Indian fusion restaurant chain specializing in slow-cooked biryani and flame-grilled kebabs is headed to 1121 Flower Mound Rd., Suite 590, filling the space left by Café India.

Dum N Grill announced it will take over the former Café India location, according to a Town of Flower Mound newsflash posted Monday, Aug. 24. The town confirmed the news on its official Facebook page, calling the restaurant "coming soon."

No opening date has been announced.

The chain's menu centers on biryani prepared using the traditional dum method, in which rice and meat slow-cook together inside a sealed vessel, trapping steam and spice. Flame-grilled kebabs, curries, appetizers, breads, desserts and drinks built around traditional Indian flavors round out the offerings, according to the restaurant's website.

Dum N Grill operates eight locations in Austin, Frisco, Melissa, Pearland and Richmond in Texas, plus Bentonville, Arkansas; Schaumburg, Illinois; and Tysons, Virginia. The Frisco and Melissa outposts are the closest to Flower Mound. The chain's website lists several additional locations as "coming soon," including one in nearby Corinth, though the Flower Mound location does not yet appear on the company's own locations page.

The Suite 590 space sits along the Flower Mound Road corridor east of FM-2499, a stretch that has seen steady restaurant and retail turnover in recent years. Café India previously operated at the address before closing, and the arrival of Dum N Grill would bring a different take on Indian cuisine to the same storefront, with the chain emphasizing its dum-cooking technique and a broader menu that includes breakfast items and modern Indian favorites alongside the traditional dishes.

The town has not announced a construction or permitting timeline. Residents can check for opening updates at flowermound.gov or dumngrill.com.
