The Flower Mound Police Department's third annual Casino Night is Saturday, Aug. 29, and the department's primary fundraiser for Santa Cops is offering residents a western saloon-themed evening of casino games for $50 a ticket.

The event runs from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott Flower Mound, 4330 Courtyard Way. Each ticket includes $1,000 in house chips, snacks, drinks, two adult beverages and a door-prize ticket.

Registration opens at 5:30 p.m., the casino floor opens at 6 p.m. and gaming begins at 6:30 p.m., according to the FMPD event listing. Games include blackjack, poker, roulette, craps and slots, plus side events like a lucky draw and mystery chip bags.

Door prizes draw every 30 minutes. Players can convert chip winnings into raffle tickets for top prizes, so the more chips earned throughout the night, the more chances to win.

The department said in its July event announcement that players won't just be there for fun, noting the door prizes and other opportunities mean no one should leave empty-handed.

All proceeds benefit Santa Cops.

FMPD calls it the department's largest community outreach program. Santa Cops provides Christmas gifts to local children who might otherwise go without, while creating opportunities for positive interactions between kids and Flower Mound officers. Since the program began, approximately 1,000 families and 3,000 children in Flower Mound have benefited from resident donations, according to Flomobee.

FMPD administers Santa Cops in partnership with the Flower Mound Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association, which co-presents the Casino Night. The two organizations hold several fundraisers throughout the year, and individual donations also provide a sizable portion of gift-purchasing funds.
