Flower Mound High School students started the 2026-27 school year with construction crews still on campus. The $18 million Phase 2 renovation is scheduled to wrap up Oct. 30, meaning roughly two more months of active work while classes are in session.

The project covers 102,815 square feet of the FMHS campus at 3411 Peters Colony Road, touching the auxiliary gym, classrooms and the auditorium. Technology upgrades are also underway: new student and staff devices, upgraded network infrastructure, weapon scanners and new locking and alarm systems.

Construction began March 3, 2025, according to the project's Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, which was registered Jan. 12, 2025. The work is classified as renovation and alteration of portions of campus not addressed during Phase 1, which refreshed a separate section of the building.

Lewisville ISD is funding the project through voter-approved bonds. The TDLR filing lists the estimated cost at $18 million; Flo Mo Bee reported the broader project budget at around $20 million, a figure that may include related work beyond the TDLR-registered scope. Community Impact reported in January 2025 that the renovations are tied to LISD's 2023 and 2024 bonds.

Stantec Architecture Inc. of Plano designed the renovation. LISD project contact Tania Caudill is listed in the state filing as overseeing the work on the district's behalf.

If the Oct. 30 target holds, construction would finish before the holiday break, giving students a completed campus for the start of second semester.
