Lewisville ISD has been named a Career and Technical Education District of Distinction for the third consecutive year, recognizing programs that help students prepare for college and careers.

The Career and Technical Association of Texas lists LISD among its 2026–27 honorees. The district announced the designation Oct. 26.

The recognition applies district-wide, including programs serving students at Flower Mound High School and Marcus High School.

Kristin Petrunin, LISD’s director of career and technical education and college, career and military readiness, credited students’ industry-certification results, the range of courses offered and responsible program management.

In the district announcement, Petrunin said LISD was among the top 8% of Texas CTE programs receiving recognition this year and the top 2% maintaining it for three consecutive years. CTAT’s published list identifies recipients but does not rank programs statewide.

Superintendent Lori Rapp credited teachers, administrators, students and community partners for creating opportunities to develop skills and earn credentials before graduation.

CTAT evaluates applicants on measures including certifications, career pathways, industry partnerships and student outcomes. Districts must have at least one CTE administrator who belongs to the association. The annual application fee is $800, refundable if a district does not qualify, according to the program requirements.

LISD’s CTE department website says its courses serve approximately 13,000 students each school year. The district reported offering 42 programs of study when it announced its previous designation in November 2025.
