Republican Cindy Yeatts Brown is seeking reelection as Denton County treasurer in the Nov. 3, 2026, election, according to the state ballot certification. The countywide office serves residents including those in Flower Mound and Highland Village.

Brown has been treasurer since 1999, according to the Texas Association of Counties. She became the association’s president on Jan. 1, 2026, for a two-year term. That is a separate association leadership role, not another county elected office.

Responsibilities and policy information

The treasurer’s work concerns the handling and accounting of county funds. County budget and tax-rate decisions belong to Commissioners Court; the treasurer cannot independently enact a tax increase or allocate the entire county budget.

The materials reviewed establish Brown’s tenure and professional leadership but do not provide a detailed new 2026 campaign platform, proposed spending changes or an implementation timetable. No specific new promises or projected taxpayer savings are attributed to her here.

The Flower Mound Times did not receive a direct questionnaire response from the candidate and does not endorse candidates.
