Dale Frey, a Democrat, is running for Denton County clerk against Republican incumbent Juli Luke in the Nov. 3, 2026, election, according to the state’s certification.
Background and service
Frey’s campaign website describes experience in web development and systems administration for federal agencies and graduation from George Mason University. He says the clerk’s office should serve residents fairly, protect records and follow the law.
Voting access and other priorities
Frey supports countywide Election Day voting centers, public help with the cost of citizenship documents if required for voter registration, and opposition to local participation in federal immigration-enforcement agreements.
These include advocacy on matters beyond the clerk’s direct authority. Denton County has a separate elections administrator; the clerk could not independently change the county’s voting system or federal immigration policy.
The campaign page reviewed does not provide a cost estimate, funding source or implementation timetable for the document-cost proposal.
What the clerk controls
The county’s description of the office identifies it as the official keeper of real-property, vital-statistics and several categories of court records. The office also supports Commissioners Court.
For local residents, the clerk’s administrative work affects access to records and services such as marriage licenses. Broader policy changes would require action by the government bodies with the relevant authority.
The Flower Mound Times did not receive a direct questionnaire response from the candidate and does not endorse candidates.
