An Indian fusion restaurant chain with seven locations across four states is expanding into Flower Mound.

Dum N Grill will open at 1121 Flower Mound Rd., Suite 590, the Town of Flower Mound announced Friday, July 31. The space previously housed Café India, which opened in June 2024 and has since closed. Town food inspection records show the last inspection under Café India's license was January 16.

The restaurant specializes in dum-style cooking, a technique that slow-cooks layered spices, marinated proteins, and fragrant basmati rice. Its menu spans biryanis, fire-grilled kebabs, curries, Indo-Chinese appetizers, breads, desserts, and drinks featuring traditional Indian flavors.

Signature dishes listed on the restaurant's website include Ulavacharu Chicken Biryani, an Andhra cuisine specialty pairing chicken with a lentil broth and basmati rice; Nalli Gosht Biryani with bone-in mutton; and Mirapakaya Kodi Vepudu, a South Indian spicy chicken fry with green chilies.

Dum N Grill currently operates locations in Austin, Frisco, Melissa, and Pearland in Texas, plus Bentonville, Arkansas; Schaumburg, Illinois; and Tysons, Virginia. The chain also lists Corinth, Flower Mound's neighbor to the east, as a separate "coming soon" location.

No opening date has been set.

The town's alert listed the restaurant as "coming soon," and the Flower Mound location does not yet appear on Dum N Grill's own website. The suite at 1121 Flower Mound Rd. sits in a strip center along the Flower Mound Road corridor. Café India had operated there in the former Le Peep space, serving Indian and Indo-Chinese street foods, according to the Cross Timbers Gazette.
