Carter BloodCare will park its mobile blood bus at Flower Mound High School on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Donors who give blood will receive a free plush blanket while supplies last, according to the Cross Timbers Gazette, which first reported on the drive. Carter BloodCare told the Gazette the annual blanket giveaway has become a holiday tradition. Donors who give in November or December are eligible for the blanket, according to Carter BloodCare's promotions page.

One blanket is available per donor per attempt to give. Appreciation gifts may be substituted for a different item, according to the promotions page.

Jennifer Owens, the primary blood drive coordinator listed on the drive's scheduling page, is the contact for the Flower Mound event.

Carter BloodCare told the Gazette that eligible donors can give blood starting at age 16 with parental consent, or at 17 without it, and must weigh at least 110 pounds.
