The Friends of the Flower Mound Public Library will fill the Community Program Room at 3030 Broadmoor Ln. with donated books starting Friday, Aug. 7, offering three days of browsing for readers looking to stock up before school starts.
The nonprofit's annual book sale runs Friday, Aug. 7 through Sunday, Aug. 9 at the Flower Mound Public Library. Friday's presale session, from 5 to 7 p.m., costs $5 at the door and gives early shoppers first pick of the widest selection before the weekend crowd arrives. Saturday, Aug. 8 hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 9 hours are 1 to 4 p.m., both with free admission.
Bring cash or a checkbook.
Credit cards will not be accepted, according to a civic alert from the Town of Flower Mound. Proceeds from the sale support library programming and materials beyond what the municipal budget covers, according to Flower Mound Local Life.
Donated titles span fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, children's picture books, chapter books and reference material, though inventory varies based on what the community drops off each year.
The $5 Friday fee functions as a first-pick premium for shoppers who want the broadest selection, while Saturday and Sunday offer free entry for bargain hunters willing to browse what's left.
