Flower Mound and Highland Village families who need help covering school meals can apply for Lewisville ISD's free and reduced-price lunch program, with the first day of school set for Wednesday, Aug. 12.
The district opened applications in late July for the 2026-27 school year, according to Cross Timbers Gazette. Families can apply online or pick up a physical form at the LISD Child Nutrition Department, 1565 West Main St., Building B, in Lewisville.
There is no deadline. Applications are accepted any time during the school year, and families whose circumstances change mid-year can submit a new one.
"This program is an important way to support families and ensure kids stay nourished and ready to learn," Cristina Tapia with LISD Child Nutrition told Cross Timbers Gazette.
What you'll need
An adult in the household must provide:
- Names of all household members
- Amount, frequency and source of current income for each member
- Last four digits of the signing adult's Social Security number (or check "No Social Security number" if none)
- Signature of an adult household member attesting the information is correct
Who qualifies automatically
LISD said it is working with local agencies to identify children who are categorically or program eligible. Those households will be notified directly and will not need to apply.
If your situation changes
Families who experience a job loss, income drop or increase in household size after the school year begins can submit a new application at any time. The district said such changes may make children eligible if household income falls at or below current guidelines.

LISD serves roughly 47,876 students across 62 campuses, including multiple schools in Flower Mound and Highland Village such as Flower Mound High School, Marcus High School, Briarhill Middle School and Highland Village Elementary.
