Marcus hosts Hebron at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, in a District 5-6A game at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, with the Marauders looking to bounce back from a 7-40 loss to Lewisville on Sept. 25.

The Hawks arrive on a two-game winning streak after beating Little Elm 24-21 on homecoming the same night. Hebron is 2-2 overall and 1-0 in district, according to MaxPreps. Marcus is 2-1 through three games, per MaxPreps.

Marcus opened the season with a 41-38 overtime win over Justin Northwest on Aug. 28. Senior running back Andrew Emmert scored four touchdowns in that game, and senior quarterback Cash Davis completed 14 of 21 passes for 214 yards, according to the MHS Marquee. The Marauders followed with a 45-14 win over Pearce on Sept. 11 before the blowout loss to Lewisville.

Hebron's path has been bumpier. The Hawks lost to Coppell 10-40 on Aug. 28 and to Walnut Grove 0-35 on Thursday, Sept. 3, before edging Berkner 24-23 on Sept. 11.

Against Little Elm, Hebron trailed 17-21 at halftime. Receiver Jevonyae Broussard caught two touchdown passes, and the defense held Little Elm scoreless in the third and fourth quarters to seal the comeback.

"You can't get too up when you're up, the real question is can you be consistent," Hebron head coach John Towels III told the Hebron Hawk Eye.

Linebacker Dillion Collins and safety Joel Chang anchored the second-half shutout with multiple sacks and tackles. Cornerback Dylan Hatcher also contributed a pick-six early in the game.

Both teams need a win Friday to stay in the District 5-6A playoff conversation. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Marcus High School.
