Flower Mound High School's marching band scored 86.200 points Saturday, Sept. 26, to win the Bands of America Dallas Mid-Cities Regional Championship in Bedford.

The Jaguars swept all three caption awards: Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding General Effect, as first reported by the Cross Timbers Gazette. More than 20 ensembles from across Texas were expected to compete at Pennington Field, according to a FloMarching preview.

Round Rock High School finished second with 83.950 points. Coppell High School placed third at 83.075, giving the Lewisville ISD school a 2.25-point margin over its nearest competitor.

The FMHS band program has built a national profile. The marching band performed in the 2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Argyle High School, another southern Denton County program, won first place in the Class 3A preliminary round and swept its own Outstanding Music, Visual and General Effect awards in prelims. Argyle did not advance to the finals.
