A colorful collection of painted wooden houses, each one decorated by a different community member, is now on display at the Community Activity Center on Gerault Road through the end of August.
The installation, called "Home Is Where the Art Is," grew out of the 2026 Flower Mound Arts Festival. During the festival, participants of all ages painted small wooden houses reflecting their own vision of home. The individual pieces were then assembled into a single collective artwork, making every participant a co-creator of the finished display.
Admission is free.
The town announced the display July 28, calling it a symbol of community pride and creativity. In that announcement, the town thanked participants, saying their contributions turned simple wooden houses into a lasting celebration of the place residents call home.
The project is one of several community art efforts Flower Mound Parks and Recreation has organized this summer. A separate project at the Children's Parade in early July produced a community artwork featuring 250 stars to honor America's 250th birthday. The CAC also regularly rotates local art displays, including a dinosaur-themed installation called "Blueberry the Dinosaur" that was previously on view at the center before moving to the Flower Mound Public Library at 3030 Broadmoor Lane.

The "Home Is Where the Art Is" installation is on view at the Community Activity Center, 1200 Gerault Rd., Flower Mound, TX 75028. The display runs through the end of August.

- Monday–Thursday: 5 a.m.–10 p.m.
- Friday: 5 a.m.–9 p.m.
- Saturday: 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
- Sunday: 1–6 p.m.
