Shake Shack opened its doors Wednesday, Aug. 12, at The Shops at Highland Village, giving families a new dining spot on the same morning Lewisville ISD students head back to class.
The opening celebration begins at 9:30 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting, live music and entertainment at 1701 Shoal Creek, Suite 245. Doors opened at 10 a.m., according to The Cross Timbers Gazette.
The first 100 guests will receive an exclusive Texas-themed tumbler. Shake Shack will also donate $1 per sandwich sold on opening day to the Lewisville Education Foundation, the local nonprofit that supports LISD students and teachers. LEF has awarded more than $7.7 million in scholarships, teacher grants and special programs since 1990, according to the foundation's website.
The Cross Timbers Gazette shared a sneak-peek video tour of the new location on Tuesday, Aug. 11, showing off the finished interior ahead of the grand opening.
As we reported Aug. 6, the Highland Village location marks the burger chain's latest addition to southern Denton County. The opening also falls on the first day of school for Lewisville ISD students, according to Flower Mound Mayor Cheryl Moore's August message.
Shake Shack joins a wave of new tenants at The Shops at Highland Village. Hudson House is expected to complete its buildout in November, and J. Crew Factory is also among the upcoming additions.
