A construction crew installing fiber lines struck a gas line near Timber Valley Drive and Edgefield Trail in Flower Mound, prompting precautionary evacuations at several nearby homes.
The Flower Mound Fire Department and Atmos Energy responded to the leak on the 4-inch line, according to an Oct. 28 post from The Cross Timbers Gazette on X.
At the time of the update, crews had not provided an estimated repair completion time. The Gazette reported that the hazard was confined to the immediate leak area, with no danger to the public beyond it.
The post did not specify how many homes were evacuated or when residents could return.
