Flower Mound volleyball swept Denton Guyer 25-14, 25-7, 25-13 on Tuesday, Sept. 29, to finish the first half of District 5-6A play unbeaten at 7-0.

The Lady Jaguars (21-6 overall) controlled every set against Guyer (13-15, 3-4) at Flower Mound High. The closest margin came in the opener at 25-14, and the second set was the most lopsided at 25-7.

The win caps a two-victory week for head coach J. Siegel's squad. Earlier in the week, Flower Mound knocked off Hebron in five sets, 25-17, 25-22, 19-25, 22-25, 15-12, snapping the Hawks' 15-match winning streak. Hebron was ranked No. 8 nationally at the time, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Junior outside hitter Aleah Edmond led the attack against Hebron with 21 kills. Senior outside hitter Grace Pinegar added 19 kills, and senior setter Hayden Curtis dished out 48 assists. No individual statistics were available for the Guyer match.

Edmond, a 6-foot junior committed to Grand Canyon University, and Curtis, a 6-foot senior committed to Syracuse University, both earned Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State honors last season. Pinegar, a 6-1 senior committed to the University of Colorado, was a TGCA All-Star selection.

The three have fueled a streak of at least 12 consecutive wins. Flower Mound sits No. 2 in the Dallas Morning News DFW-area Class 6A rankings, No. 8 in Texas and No. 27 nationally, per MaxPreps.

Hebron (28-7, 6-1) holds second place in District 5-6A, one game back. Frisco Wakeland (17-16, 5-2) sits third. Guyer's 3-4 mark leaves the Wildcats one game outside the playoff picture heading into the second half of district play, according to the Denton Record-Chronicle.

Flower Mound opens the second half Friday with a road match at Braswell (14-19, 2-5).
