Women's clothing retailer J.Jill will open a store at The Shops at Highland Village early next year, according to a state filing submitted Wednesday, Sept. 2.

The store will occupy space at 1500 Cottonwood Creek in Highland Village, the Cross Timbers Gazette reported. No specific suite was listed. About $450,000 in renovation work is expected to begin in November and wrap by the end of January 2027.

J.Jill specializes in women's apparel, footwear and accessories, targeting women 45 and older. The brand carries sizes XS through 4X in regular, petite and tall fits. It operates more than 200 stores nationwide, including North Texas locations in Southlake, Plano, Allen, Fort Worth and Dallas.

The company started as a single store in the Berkshires of Massachusetts in 1959.

Highland Village will join that growing list of storefronts across the region. The announcement also adds to a wave of new tenants at The Shops at Highland Village, a 375,000-square-foot shopping center. Shake Shack, J.Crew Factory, Troy Mediterranean Bar & Grill and STRONG Pilates all opened at the center in 2026. Hudson House is under construction and targeting a fall or winter 2026 opening, the Flower Mound Bee reported.

Hunter Pond, Vandelay Companies founder and CEO, said in a June 29 press release announcing Hudson House's groundbreaking that the shopping center had become a destination for dining, shopping and gathering.

No opening date for J.Jill beyond "early next year" has been announced. Residents can watch for construction activity at 1500 Cottonwood Creek starting in November.
