Incoming freshmen and returning Marcus High School students can walk their 2026-27 class schedules across both campuses two nights before school starts.

Walk Your Schedule Night runs Monday, Aug. 10, and Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 5 to 6 p.m. Both the main MHS building and the separate M9 ninth-grade campus will be unlocked, giving families a chance to locate classrooms, trace hallway routes, and get oriented before the Wednesday, Aug. 12, first day.

The MHS 9th Grade Campus announced the event on its official social media account Friday, July 31.

Why it matters for freshmen

M9 is a standalone building where all Marcus freshmen spend their ninth-grade year before moving to the main high school campus as sophomores. Walk Your Schedule Night is a separate opportunity for incoming ninth graders to physically trace the route between classes with their actual fall schedule in hand. Students who attended Marauder Camp orientation on July 23 got an introduction to campus life, but this event focuses specifically on navigating individual schedules across both buildings.

For upperclassmen, the two-night window is a chance to adjust to changed high school hours. Lewisville ISD shifted its high school bell schedule for 2026-27 to 8:50 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., a change from previous years. Early release days will dismiss at 1 p.m.

Who's leading M9 this year

Dr. Jessica True returns as M9 principal. She was named LISD Secondary Principal of the Year in May 2026, when Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp presented her with the district's top honor for secondary administrators. True is entering her fifth year leading the ninth-grade campus, according to district records.
