Guillermo Alvarez is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a July 19 stabbing at an equestrian center on Porter Road in Bartonville, and as of Friday, July 31, he had not been apprehended.

The Bartonville Police Department identified Alvarez as a second suspect in the case in a press release Thursday, July 30, updating an investigation that began the night of the stabbing. As we reported July 31, the first suspect was arrested at the scene.

The department said Alvarez remains at large and is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the July 30 announcement.

What happened

Bartonville PD responded to a hospital in Flower Mound around 10:49 p.m. Sunday, July 19, after a stabbing victim was transported there with a critical wound to the abdomen.

According to Cross Timbers Gazette reporting, two brothers who reside at the equestrian center got into an altercation that escalated into a physical assault. A third person who works and lives at the center was stabbed during the fight.

Police did not release the exact location of the stabbing within the property because the victim lives and works there.

First suspect in custody

The first suspect, Yonkani Alvarez-Ruiz, was found at the scene when officers arrived and arrested without incident. He was booked Monday, July 20, on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in the Denton County Jail with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.

He has not been formally charged beyond the arrest charge.

Bartonville PD entered a partnership with ICE through the 287(g) Task Force Model, approved at the town's June 2026 council meeting, which allows designated officers to have ICE oversight when arresting a person suspected of a criminal offense.

Six agencies assisted Bartonville PD in the original response: Argyle Police Department, Double Oak PD, Northlake PD, the Denton County Sheriff's Office, the Department of Homeland Security, and the FBI Violent Crimes Squad based in Frisco.
